This is a Leica IIIc 35mm rangefinder camera, manufactured in Germany in 1946, Ernst Leitz Wetzlar D. Is a 35mm rangefinder camera introduced by. It was made of aluminum, with chrome-plated brass top plate, base plate and knobs. Some had grey paint finish due to the lack of chrome during the war. The Leica IIIc was built from 1940 to 1951 (serial numbers 360,101-525,001), with approx.

As an upgrade of the Leica IIIb, the Leica IIIc had important changes. One piece die-cast body, instead of an assembly of small parts. The cover of the rangefinder is no longer a separate piece. 3mm longer than the previous cameras. Information about the camera being offered. 412783 (corresponds to production runs in 1946-47). Summitar f/5 50mm lens serial No. 611143 (corresponds to production runs in 1946). F-stop settings include 2.0 - 16.

Eight shutter speeds, including B, 30-1, 1/40, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500, 1/1000 sec. Focal range is 1 meter to infinity. Leica IIIc camera with Summitar 50mm f/2 lens. Original black leather camera case with shoulder/neck strap. Exposure number reset dial (functional).
I couldn't think of anything else to test. As would be expected for pretty much anything 75 years old, there are a few superficial blemishes on the camera case and strap, the camera was stored with the original lens cap in place and a lens filter screwed onto the lens.

As a result, there are no visible scratches or marring on the lens. The camera body has been protected by the camera case, so the camera body, as well as the lens system are all in excellent condition. This is a real beauty. FYI, I have enjoyed photography for over 40 years. I learned to shoot using a 100% manual rangefinder camera, moved on to a 100% manual SLR, then on to digital photography.

But after testing everything I could, I believe that it is in 100% functional condition. However, this being said, the camera is being offered in as is condition, and no warranties are offered or implied.
