This is perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity for one of the most historically significant 35mm SLR camera's ever made. It was a very expensive precision made camera that was often used for scientific research and documentation. Because of the cost, (about 25% of the average US workers yearly salary) only high end professional photographers and rich enthusiasts had access to these camera's. There were only 1400 made in the Dresden, Germany factory. When you take into account that was 83 years ago, and how many of those remained in Germany and Europe and survived the war, how many over that time just got used and worn, how many got rusty in a damp basement or in humid climates, to find one in any condition is rare indeed, to find one for sale in virtually mint condition is an extremely rare occurrence and find. In addition to that, it includes a pre war (1936) Meyer optics 5.8cm (58mm) f/1.9 this was the rarest and most expensive lens available through Ihagee in these camera's.

The lens includes front and rear caps and has just been CLA'd this week and it is buttery smooth and clear as new also in near mint condition. Pre War Meyers lenses are going through the roof in value now as they have an amazing quality that even post war versions can't match. They can cost many thousands of dollars all by them selves and this model easily runs 1000.00 to 1200.00 depending on condition. It was once the star attraction of the famous Exakta collector Captain Jacks collection.

The price reflects the value of both the camera and the lens. The item "1936 Ihagee Kine-Exakta Round magnifier Camera with Meyer optics 5.8 cm f/1.9 Lens" is in sale since Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
