Near Mint Bolex H16 Rex-5 16mm Film Camera & Schneider Century 5.7mm Lens

This is an excellent specimen of the Bolex H16 Rex-5 16mm reflex camera with Schneider Century 5.7mm Lens. The camera was manufactured between 1967 and 1976. It accepts standard 100ft reels of 16mm film and has a saddle for the use of 400ft reels. Notable camera features: 13x Reflex viewfinder which is highly desirable - very bright and clear at full magnification.

Camera has variable speeds at 12, 16, 18, 24, 32, 48, and 64 frames per second. 133 degree variable shutter operated manually to adjust exposure time, accepts the Rexofader accessory to accomplish fade-ins and fade-outs. Built-in slot for gelatin filters and this camera includes one filter holder with an unknown filter already installed. Accepts up to 3 C-mount lenses and has a functional locking lever.

Has a folding winding handle when not in use. 8:1 and 1:1 external drive shaft permits the attachment of an external electric motor.

Schneider Century 5.7mm C-mount Lens This lens comes with a removable gear on the aperture ring. Aperture ring moves smoothly without clicks or resistance. Lens has fixed focus The lens also has a rather unique feature as a square aperture. This can result in some very interesting visuals in how the lens renders bokeh. This lens is a Schneider Cinegon 10mm f/1.8 with a Century front element that converted it into an optically excellent 5.7mm lens. The 5.7mm focal length on the standard 16mm format is equivalent to a 19mm focal length on the 35mm format.

All functions tested and working. Camera is in excellent shape with very few scuffs and scratches from decades of careful use. It is recently CLA'd and is wonderful to use.
