With a clear auto mode, just choose your aperture, focus with the clear rangefinder and shoot. Perfect for photography on the move.
Bodywork and cosmetic appearance: In very good condition with no significant marks or scratches. A few patches where the paint has been touched up neatly. Wind on and shutter release: Excellent mechanical order. Shutter: All speeds seem correct to the ear, including the slow speeds. Light meter: Responds appropriately to changes in light.
Over and Slow lights working correctly. Rangefinder: Clear patch and measuring accurately. Lens: Clean and clear with no scratches, fogging or fungus. Battery: A new 6v battery has been fitted so the camera is ready to go. This is much smaller than the original unavailable battery so a reliable card and foil surround has been fashioned to suit. The battery check light is working. Light seals: The main door seal has been replaced and the rear door cleaned and tidied. Please check the photos and description carefully. An item is only included if it specifically says that it is included. These are often very vintage cameras and they will not include instruction manuals (which are always easy to find online) or leads or any other accessories unless they are specifically mentioned.
Please ask if you are unsure. This is what Ken Rockwell has to say about this fabulous camera. The Yashica Electro 35 was one of the most popular consumer 35mm cameras of the 1960s and 1970s. They took it all over the world on their vacations, and came back with loads of great slides.
It's quieter and and has less vibration than any of the clumsier focal-plane shutters of Leica and Nikon rangefinders, and no flipping mirrors like every DSLR. The only gotchas are that the Electro 35 has no auto-exposure lock and it's an almost all-auto camera. It only has three manual shutter speeds, and that's stretching it. It is designed for a no-longer available mercury battery, however modern alkaline replacements work fine.
This Yashica a solid metal camera. It is a joy to carry around compared to my hulking Nikon D3, but still has to be carried over-the-shoulder. We are very proud of our customer service, so please, if there is anything you are not 100% happy about, get in contact with us. We will sort it out to your satisfaction. Just look at our feedback. We have done a functional check to make sure that all mechanical, electrical and electronic functions work as they should. However, we have not run films through ny film cameras, so we cannot guarantee that everything is perfect. We have cleaned and tidied everything thoroughly. Our aim is to sell you a camera you can use and enjoy the fun of photography.
(Sometimes we will sell cameras that do not work, but this will always be very clear in the description). We always give a detailed and honest description and include a good number of high resolution photos from different angles.
Please read the description to be clear about any issues of condition and to know what is and is not included in the package. Also, look carefully at the photos as they form part of the description. We have a large collection of beautiful vintage and modern film and digital cameras and accessories.
