First let me say--- I know very little about the realities of these type of cameras--- so my examination is like an average person looking over a race car--- so take my observations with that in mind. This is a Vintage Linhof Tecknika Model III 4x5 Camera, made from the late 1940's through the mid 1950's I think. It is a rather sought after camera because of it's precise capabilities and exception build quality. It's in Excellent Condition---- mostly. It looks pretty good and it works fairly well generally, although I'm not familiar with all the functions. It comes with Two lens on two boards--- a rather Rare 9cm f/12 Rodenstock Weitwinkel-Perigon lens in a Protor II Shutter and a 150mm f/4.5 Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar lens in (I think) a basic Compur Shutter. Note--- additional Items Added, but NOT the Equipment Suitcase shown, unless you want to pay a little extra for it. Overall, it's in nice shape all around. Some minimal nicks, scuffs, scratches, a couple spots where the leather is getting worn, but none missing, and the other metal parts are in very good condition as well--- just a little light oxidation or paint wear here and there. The various "control" parts work well, opens and closes, rises and falls etc--- a little stiffly in some aspects. The bellows looks great--- fully extends with one small fold that's a little wonky, but no tears...
But I have not tested it for pinhole leaks. The shutters work, but Not perfectly. The slowest ones stick or are sluggish--- the faster ones sound pretty good---- but have not been tested for accuracy---- so they'll need service for perfect operation. The lens glass is fairly clean & clear, front to back----- no serious fog, fungus, haze or separation---- but Don't expect them to be like brand new.
The apertures work and look fine. The bellows is in Great shape---- pliable, no tears, fairly clean and flexible.
The hood snaps open smartly, the spring back is complete and strong and the back rotates--- no problems with that. From what I can tell everything else seems to be working, but I'm not completely familiar with every nuance of this model--- it's the first one I've ever had and I've never shot with it. UPDATE: SEE the last Four Photos---- I discovered in the original Equipment Suitcase had a few extra items--- A Graflex Film Pack Adapter, a nice Loupe, a Lens Cap of sorts, and a Linhof Sight/Viewfinder that goes on the shoe on top of the camera body. THESE FOUR ITEMS WILL BE Included at No Extra Charge. We'll arrange something afterward if you want it. So it's a Very Good camera as a collectible. Or to use with a couple fixes to get it perfect--- so Consider it for Parts or Repair/Restoration--- Mot in Mint Condition. What you see is what you'll get--- the actual item for sale is pictured--- please check them all out.
It will be packed well and safe. I'm not here trying to rip anybody off or sneak one past you. I'm not into having things go back and forth based on opinion, or risk "part swapping" either. I've been a photographer for 40+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for and can recognize when something is broken. But I don't know everything and I can't "Bench Test" every thing to factory specs and unless it's Brand New...
I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be Perfect. This is a 70+ year-old item--- any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge and I try to be detailed and truthful, but I can't describe every every millimeter of it--- and I might have missed something. What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown. Let's make a deal.
