Bausch & Lomb 3A Portrait F-4 Large Format Camera Prime Lens Board Vtg Brass USA. This is a gorgeous and massive antique brass Bausch & Lomb Portrait lens.
This lens is in remarkable condition and the glass in particular is in great shape. There are some faint surface scratches, probably from cleaning and a small 1.5mm internal scallop defect at the edge of the rear lens as well as some tiny air bubbles internally from the manufacturing process to the front lens. The aperture adjustment works and the blades are in good shape. The focus knob does not move easily so I did not force it but does not look rusted or damaged and might need lubrication. The other 1-4 slide adjustment which I believe is called a diffuser moves with difficulty and I also did not want to force it. The front surround has some bending around the rim but the brass finish on the barrel has a beautiful patina on this well cared for lens. The lens as shown is 9" long and the barrel is 5.25" in diameter. The mahogany backer board measures 9"x9" max measurement.
