Here's a Very Nice Condition 35mm Film SLR Camera--- was at the Top End for Canon in the early 1980's---- it highlighted a new age of multi-exposure features in cameras. This is the legendary Canon A-1 Camera body with 50mm f/1.8 standard FD lens, plus a Strap and it's Instruction books. It's all in Excellent+ Condition--- Cosmetically and Everything Working well. The Exterior of the body has very minimal signs of use and age --- just a few tiny blemishes here and there---- a little Dusty but no damage. The lens is in great condition too, both in cosmetics and operationally. So it all Looks Great and it's Ready to Shoot. This is a GREAT camera for a "purist" film shooter or for a Student to Learn Real Photography and a Great Collector piece as well! I'm not a camera store technician, but I know cameras. I put in a good battery and ran it through some "dry" shooting and testing, and I can tell you it winds smoothly, and the shutter fires crisply at the different speeds up and down the scale--- with a little bit of the famous Canon shutter squeak--- but it comes and goes.
The Automatic Exposure features and light meter inside responds to light well with LED readouts for Shutter & Aperture Priority Automatic, plus Full Manual, and Full Auto "Program" modes. The Lens is also in Excellent condition as well--- clean with bright coatings, with a few specs of dust inside, but they won't do anything and I suspect it will shoot Great!
The aperture blades are clean and they works fine, and the focus is smooth and easy. Inside the film chamber it's also clean as well, no problems that I can see---- the seals look good so it's ready to Go! It's Not quite 100% Mint condition, but it's a Really Nice Example, so please don't expect it to be like new. Comes with everything you see--- Camera, Lens, Strap, Sky Filter, Lens Cap, and the Instruction Manual that's a little beat up from shuffling in a camera bag. It will be packed well and safe.
If you read all of the description you'll see I took the time to check out the item and give you an honest description. I've been a photographer for 30+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for and can recognize when something is broken. But I can't "Bench Test" everything to factory specs, and understand every little bell and whistle. Unless it's Brand New... I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be Perfect...
Especially when it's a 40+ year old item! (and if it was brand new the price would be 50% higher) Any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge and I try to be detailed and truthful, but I can't describe every every millimeter of it. As expected with age, a used vintage camera could be found with a nick or blemishes here and there or a few additional specs of dust inside that I failed to mention, particularly inside the viewfinder...
But they won't affect the photos and would hardly diminish it... Unless you expect everything to be 100% Perfect. If it's junk or even "C" Grade... I won't sell it! I'm an honest guy, but there are many buyers who aren't.
