These cameras have an updated Flash shoe that will only work with modern 6v flashes. You will need a voltage drop down on the flash shoe if you wish to use the original nimslo opti-lite flash.
If you use a high voltage older flash you will damage the camera without the voltage drop attachment. A flash with manual power mode is recommended. Here's a link to a list of older flashes...
