The Camera: Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic SPII. The Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic SPII (released in 1971) is a legendary 35mm film SLR. Because Honeywell was the U. Distributor for Asahi Pentax, these models bear the "Honeywell" branding but are functionally identical to the global "Asahi" versions. Mount: M42 Screw Mount (Universal), new light seals, & working light meter! View finder acceptable - see pictures!
Metering: TTL (Through-The-Lens) stop-down metering. To get a light reading, you push a switch on the side of the mount upward; this closes the lens aperture and activates the needle in the viewfinder.
It is famously durable and works without a battery (except for the light meter). Upgrades: Unlike the original Spotmatic, the SPII features a fixed hot shoe for flash and an improved film transport system. The Standard Lens: Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8. This is the "soul" of the Pentax system. It is widely regarded as one of the sharpest and best-built "kit" lenses ever made. Performance: Exceptional sharpness and "creamy" bokeh.
I guarantee it arrives as described, but I recommend a CLA (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust) every few years to keep it in peak condition.
