Distributor for Asahi Pentax, these models bear the "Honeywell" branding but are functionally identical to the global "Asahi" versions. Mount: M42 Screw Mount (Universal), new light seals, & working light meter! View finder acceptable - see pictures! Metering: TTL (Through-The-Lens) stop-down metering. To get a light reading, you push a switch on the side of the mount upward; this closes the lens aperture and activates the needle in the viewfinder.
This is the "soul" of the Pentax system. It is widely regarded as one of the sharpest and best-built "kit" lenses ever made. Performance: Exceptional sharpness and "creamy" bokeh. The "Yellow" Tint: Some of these lenses used thorium glass for better refraction.
Over 50 years, this can cause a slight yellow/amber tint. Many photographers love this for the "warm" vintage look it gives color film, or the added contrast it provides for Black & White. The Telephoto Lens: Accura Diamatic YS 135mm f/2.8. While it has been [tested/inspected] and is currently working, please keep in mind that vintage electronics and mechanics are delicate. While this camera passed all checks this year, please remember that vintage mechanical items can be unpredictable.
