====== Super rare condition with great optics you will not find considering its age! Yashica-Mat - vintage 6x6 twin lens reflex medium format camera. The camera that brought Rolleiflex-style shooting to everyday photographers. Smooth crank advance, a sharp four-element Yashinon lens, and big, beautiful 6x6 negatives.

A classic that's as much fun to shoot today as it was in 1957. Battery: how this camera works. The Yashica-Mat is fully mechanical: the shutter, crank, and focusing all work without power. Shoots 120 roll film, 12 square 6x6cm frames per roll.
Yashinon 80mm f/3.5 taking lens: four-element, Tessar-type design, coated, stops down to f/22. Bright 80mm Yashinon viewing lens for easy focusing.

Copal MXV leaf shutter: 1 sec - 1/500 + B. Flash sync at all speeds with M/X switch, plus self-timer (V setting).

Crank film advance that cocks the shutter automatically, with double-exposure prevention. Large side focusing knob, close focus about 3.3 ft. Waist-level finder with flip-up magnifier and sports frame finder. Easy-to-read thumbwheels for aperture and shutter speed.

Bay I mount for filters, hoods, and close-up lenses. In the 1950s, Yashima Optical of Nagano, Japan (later Yashica) built its reputation on affordable twin lens reflex cameras. In 1957, the company launched the Yashica-Mat, its first premium TLR and its first with a crank advance.

It borrowed key ideas from the German Rolleiflex, including the auto-cocking shutter and folding crank, at a fraction of the price. The earliest examples carried Lumaxar lenses. Within months they were renamed Yashinon, using the same sharp four-element design, made by Tomioka. The Yashica-Mat helped show the world how good Japanese cameras had become. It stayed in production until 1973 and paved the way for the famous Mat-124 and 124G.
