Released in 1964 the Yashica-Mat EM is an improved version of the Yashica-Mat LM in that it requires one less step in transferring the meter readings from the meter readout to the shutter speed and aperture wheels. The meter is a selenium cell, of course, so requires no battery. Some EMs have plastic thumb-wheels for adjusting aperture and shutter speed......
This example has anodised aluminium thumb-wheels. This lovely example has the superior, and much favoured, Yashinon f/3.5 80mm taking lens and the bright f/3.2 viewing lens in a Copal-MXV B 1-500 shutter. This EM looks lovely with no dents, and some very light signs of wear. The leatherette is fully intact with no tears, lifting or shrinkage. The focus is smooth and feels like a new camera, and the operation of the waist level finder and pop-up magnifier are smooth.
The shutter is firing nicely on all speeds and'sounds' right. The self-timer works and the light meter needle swings happily in response to light. The item "YashicaMat EM Twin Lens Reflex TLR 120 6x6 Film Camera" is in sale since Thursday, January 28, 2021.
