Introduced in 1959, 2 years after the YashicaMat, the Yashica-Auto was produced for a very limited time and only 4,927 were made; and this is what accounts for their rarity in the marketplace. Possibly they were released only in Japan as I have only ever found them in Japan. The Yashica-Auto is a Yashica-Mat with a different nameplate, that's the only difference.
