This folding camera allows the lens to be withdrawn into the camera body and protected by a permanent hard lens cover with the lens is closed. The camera includes the Compur-Rapid lens system that has B-1/500th of a second shutter speeds, and f-stops of 2.0-16. The Kodak Retina II employs a range-finder focusing mechanism. IMPORTANT NOTE: The focusing mechanism must be adjusted to the fully retracted (infinite) setting before the cover will close. The lens can then be contracted by pressing small metal buttons at the top and bottom of the lens housing. When you look at the base of the camera, you will see two metal dials. These constitute a computer that allows the user to quickly determine the correct distance and f-stop settings for shooting. The camera is in excellent condition. The outer housing shows minimal signs of wear. The interior shows some abrasions on either side of the back of the lens. Apparently, some edges of the original metal housing must have been too rough, and a previous owner must have filed it down to eliminate any scratches to film as passes over. The range-finder, f-stop adjustment, shutter release, film advance and rewind have all been tested and are in working order.
